Meet THE TEAM

  • Stephen discovered adventure growing up with his family's rafting company in Canada. In 1999 he became a helicopter pilot and Wilderness-EMT.  He loves being lazy and comfortable, but his inner voice reminds him, "when did you learned anything really useful from doing what's easy?"  He is new to Adventure Racing, but loves it. "It's like a concentrated dose of life lessons and no matter what happens out there the answer is always the same - working together will lead to success. It's also a great excuse to eat as much junk food as I want."

  • Known on the team as “The Mule,” Dan is a particularly skilled bushwhacker, navigator and analyst. He was drawn to adventure racing after being a student in Jason’s high school physics class. His favorite part of racing is the power of having a team with a common sense of purpose; and, therefore, being able to move with a speed that each teammate could never maintain individually. When not racing, Dan can be found creating digital solutions as a software architect and whipping up culinary delights for the team.

  • Chelsey’s favorite part of racing is exploring places that very few people get to see and gaining a perspective she might never see in “normal” life.In addition to adventure racing, Chelsey is taking the mountain bike world by storm, becoming a Professional Mountain Bike Racer after one season and holding the honor of being the first woman to have biked the brutal Maah Daah Hey trail straight through in less than a day. When not sleep deprived in the jungle, she can be found sipping an horchata latte, slacklining, or enjoying Dan’s BBQ.

  • Erik competed in his first adventure race in 2009 while attending college in North Dakota. Growing up in MN, he loved taking camping trips and exploring around the mountains on long hikes with his brother and dad. He also spent his time competing in road and mountain bike races, triathlons, rock climbing, and slacklining.Erik loves connecting with natural movement, pushing his body to its limits, and testing what it can accomplish. But at the core of it all it’s really just a longing to explore the amazing world we live in.
